Section 251A of the Planning & Development Act 2000 as amended is being implemented by Dublin City Council which for the planning process is that the period from 29th March 2020 to 23rd May 2020 inclusive is disregarded when calculating any specified statutory timelines in the Planning Acts and associated regulations.
Every effort is being made to ensure the planning service operates effectively and efficiently in the context of the most up to date health advice thereby ensuring the health and safety of staff, reducing the risk of the spread of COVID-19 and minimising the public health risks associated with it.   • Planning Counter Open to Public by Appointment
  • In accordance with the Government Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business and the ‘Priority Actions in Reopening Services within the Planning System’ issued by the LGMA/CCMA, our Planning Public Counter is open to members of the public, by appointment only.

    In the interest of public health, we encourage all customers to use our online service. In the event that the information you require is not available online, you can request an appointment. You will be asked to provide certain information in order to determine if your query can be responded to by phone, email, video-conferencing etc. If this is possible you will be encouraged to avail of this option as it will reduce the need for unnecessary travel and ensure appointments are available for those whose requirements cannot be met any other way. To arrange an appointment please email or phone 01 222 2149 and provide the reason for the appointment, the planning reference number and/or exact address, documentation required to be viewed and your contact details (phone and email). Before an appointment is confirmed you will be asked to answer some COVID-19 screening questions. You will receive confirmation of your appointment by email which you will be required to show in order to gain access to the Civic Offices.

The planning process is an open and transparent one. All planning application documentation, Observations / Submissions, and the weekly planning lists are made available for public inspection at the Council’s offices and on the Council’s website under Section 38 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended. This information is processed in accordance with the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended and is made available to An Bord Pleanála in the case of an appeal under Section 127 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended. There are 2 exceptions to the information being made available to the public and An Bord Pleanála (paper file or website): -

  • Part 2 of the planning application form
  • The email addresses and telephone numbers of Observations/Submissions

Search Criteria

Containing Text Found in Fields:

e.g. To search on all people with the surname Regan enter *Regan (Asterisk followed by the surname) in the name field.


Create your own list of planning applications

Select the area for which you want to generate the weekly list and then insert the start and end date in the registration fields to list applications received during a particular week. To generate a decisions list simply insert the date range in the decisions fields. You do not have to confine your list to any particular week as the system will generate a list for any time frame you request.

Searching Help

Using a Planning Reference
Enter all or part of a Planning Reference.
When entering part of a reference use an * to replace the unknown section. For example to search for a code starting 02 enter 02* in the Planning Reference field.

Using a Date Range
To search for applications within a specified date range enter the appropriate dates in the From and To fields.
To search for all applications regardless of date leave the date fields blank.

Using the Location/Proposal Search Field
Enter any word, for example Oak, into the 'Location/Proposal Search' field, to search for applications where that text appears in either the 'Address' or 'Long Proposal Description'.
